Radio frequency (RF) interference and emissions can cause disruptions in critical U.S. government communications, making monitoring capabilities a necessity. To assist, Alion built a unique solution to monitor the electromagnetic spectrum and alert users to interference or jamming.
The Automated Spectrum Monitoring Equipment (ASME) is a suite of both Alion-developed and commercial technologies for identifying and pinpointing threats to crucial communications systems. Alion also developed software for ASME to characterize, record, and locate signals of interest— a capability that distinguishes Alion’s solution.
ASME is providing the customer with a first-of-its-kind method for monitoring the spectrum while helping to protect essential government communications systems that are vital to national security. Six systems are currently in place around the world.
