PLANNING & EXECUTION
Our technical and management experts resolve planning, design, material, funding, and execution issues, including waterfront support and availability duration recommendations.
Alion’s SMEs conduct in-depth analysis of major equipment and system problems — at the class, vessel, and system level — to identify and resolve issues affecting readiness.
Pulling from our deep domain experience, we provide both offsite and onsite logistics support, including tracking End of Availability (EOA) ILS deliverables and improving configuration quality control.
We provide the manpower and the guidance — from front-end analysis to systems training plans — for new and modernized ship systems, to make sure you operate at maximum readiness.
Alion is managing an artificial intelligence (Ai) architecture for predictive planning and execution indicators for Navy ship availabilities. We are using predictive analytics, data strategy, and knowledge sharing to enable accurate forecasting for availability planning for the 36 ships in maintenance availabilities and 119 ships in planning each year. Our predictions will deliver on-time and on-budget availability completion, reducing additional costs and lost operational days.
NAVY SHIP PHASED MODERNIZATION
The Alion-led team is integral to U.S. Navy planning and execution for the CG/LSD Phased Modernization program. We absorbed emergent tasking to coordinate and inform Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) planning and execution efforts for significant and simultaneous phased modernization and maintenance periods — on both coasts — while meeting existing deliverable and deadline requirements. This support has entailed ongoing orchestration of efforts across NAVSEA and numerous other commands, including both surface ship Type Commander (TYCOMs) and NAVSUP Weapons Systems Support (WSS).
CLASS MANAGEMENT TEAM
We are currently providing Class Management Team (CMT) support to PMS 443 through day-to-day task support for the CMT Leads. Our support includes coordinating resolution of technical, logistics, and other Fleet technical issues with all stakeholders and standardizing how this can be accomplished across all non-nuclear surface ship classes. In addition, we are tracking and updating the prioritized list of issues as defined and voted on during the annual Life Cycle Management Group (LCMG) O6 level meeting.
DDG 1000 TRAINING PROGRAM
Alion is working closely with the NAVSEA PMS 339 Program Office to provide hybrid waterfront and classroom training for the DDG-1000 ZUMWALT Class. We are standing up the ZUMWALT Training Facility (ZTF), ensuring cyber security and IA compliance, hiring highly effective instructors, developing new and updated curricula, and providing innovative LVC training to DDG-1000 sailors.

Todd Stirtzinger, Senior Vice President
Todd Stirtzinger is the Senior Vice President of Alion’s Advanced Technology Group in Dayton, Ohio. Todd joins Alion with more than 30 years of experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry holding leadership roles for high technology, innovative organizations. Most recently, Todd spent five years at L3Harris (formerly L3 Technologies) serving as both a Sector and Division President responsible for the business strategy, financial performance, operational execution and growth for a broad portfolio of mission solutions including head-worn visual augmentation systems, weapon-mounted lasers and sighting devices and integrated networked systems.
