We support our warfighters with tailored analyses and software solutions that combine advanced machine learning with traditional statistical methods to extract more valuable, actionable insights.
HELPING THE DoD EXPLOIT BIG DATA
Whether on the ground, across the sea, or through the air, Alion provides crucial support services to our military. Every contractor has done its 20th-century best to sustain our forces within the limits of human capability, but that limitation has costs. The age of big data has dawned— when we can offload much of the arduous work of mining data to specialized software.
With our unique combination of in-the-field knowledge and technological ingenuity, we assist customers with root cause analysis, opportunity identification, and maintenance decision prescription to help synthesize and activate the data they need for mission success. We use applied artificial intelligence (Ai), autonomy, deep learning, and machine learning to make sense out of massive data sets and help our clients make better-informed decisions.
OUR DATA ANALYTICS SOLUTIONS
We apply our capabilities in deep and machine learning to help clients glean more insights from data as well as identify and address information beyond what humans can achieve alone.
Alion’s engineering and process experts lean on extensive expertise in methodologies like Six Sigma, LEAN, and Agile to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
Our mathematicians, statisticians, and data scientists process operational performance data and present metrics to help clients drive to the heart of their problems.
In addition to identifying the key performance indicators that drive organizations, we develop web-based digital dashboards that allow those organizations to explore their data like never before.
MISSION ANALYTICS PILOT
Predicting navy maintenance performance and duration has traditionally been a monumental task that results in schedule and cost overruns. Using cognitive analytics software, we are building an associative memory of Naval maintenance data. This memory will be used to identify common problem areas and better forecast the scope of planned work.
END-TO-END COMMON OPERATING PICTURE
Comprehending the U.S. Navy maintenance and modernization process was difficult; there were numerous organizations that all influenced the outcome. We developed a Common Operating Picture (COP) to capture all of the major influencing factors and developed metrics, which were placed on a newly developed website for everyone in the loop to access. The success of the COP led to incremental improvements and follow-on website development.
SURFACE TEAM 1 METRICS KNOWLEDGE-SHARING NETWORK
Reaching across our broad set of clients, we identified and captured global best practices in data analytics and metrics development that should be used by any organization seeking to implement effective data analytics programs. We used this information and insight — working with our client partners — to create a knowledge sharing network tasked with training, standardizing, and improving analytics development for the U.S. Navy.
