Executive Mosaic Selects Schorer for Leadership in Engineering and Support Services

Washington, D.C. – Executive Mosaic has selected Steve Schorer, chief executive officer of Alion Science and Technology, as an inductee into the 2018 edition of the Wash100 — an annual selection of the most influential voices in the government contracting arena — in recognition of more than three decades of leadership in the national defense and security space.

“I am humbled to be included among this list of leaders, especially since we’re just getting started with some major moves at Alion” says Schorer. “They say the difference between a job and a career is passion, and I’ve been fortunate that I found my passion for engineering defense early on. Everything since then — the successes, the failing forward, all of it — has given me a chance to live that passion every day, and I couldn’t be more grateful.”

Since accepting the helm of leadership in May 2017, Schorer has overseen major contract wins for Alion including: a 58-month, potential $40.9 million contract awarded by the U.S. Air Force in December to address life-limiting issues on its C-130C-5, C-17and F-15 aircraft fleets, which covers requirements evaluation, planning, logistics, engineering, testing, prototyping and data management support; and a 5-year, potential $41.4 million contract last September from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific, as one of four companies tasked with implementing and installing command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance training platforms.

Recipients of the Wash100 were first recognized by Executive Mosaic in 2014. Now in its fifth year, the Executive Mosaic organization and media team have annually selected 100 of the most noteworthy leaders in the government contracting industry. The Wash100 is recognized as the premier group of private and public-sector leaders in the GovCon sector, each of whom demonstrates skills in leadership, innovation, reliability, achievement and vision.

In addition to this recognition, Alion has been named among the top federal industry leaders in Bloomberg Government’s sixth annual BGOV200. The organization was also listed as one of the “Top 50 Technology Employers” for the D.C. metro area by the Washington Business Journal and voted a “Best for Vets Employer” by the Military Times Edge.

Visitors to wash100.com can sign in and vote for the executives they believe will have the greatest impact on government contracting in the coming year.
