Modernizing Ships for Longer Life
Maintaining safety, effectiveness and costs of U.S. Navy ships is especially important now that they are staying in service longer. Another key factor is performance.
Working with the Naval Sea Systems Command Deputy Commander for Surface Ships (SEA 21) to support their maintenance and modernization efforts, Alion oversaw performance enhancements from planning and managing design to reviewing drawings and work specifications. Alion planned and implemented nearly 2,000 modifications to 67 Navy surface ships.
Alion is assisting the Navy to more efficiently maintain ships and meet the fleet’s expectations. Additionally, our enhancements to surface ships are improving readiness and warfighting capabilities.
