Reducing the Threat of IEDs
With threats from improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on the rise, the ability to effectively detect them is paramount.
To help, Alion is working with the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) and the Army Research Laboratory’s (ARL) Experiment-Fix program to quickly field counter-IED solutions (C-IED) for warfighters. By supporting rapid experimentation, analysis and assessments of emerging C-IED systems, including state-of-the-art hand-held, vehicle-mounted and airborne systems, Alion is able to identify any critical issues present that could impact system performance in theatre.
As a result, the ARL and JIEDDO fielded multiple systems to better protect warfighters from the threat of IEDs.
