Alion to Sponsor Christmas in June Event in Virginia Beach for Soldiers Deployed During the Holidays
McLean, VA – June 20, 2008 – It may be the beginning of summer, but Alion Science and Technology is helping to recreate Christmas Day to give military families who were separated during the holidays a chance to celebrate.
Alion is co-sponsoring “The Christmas That You Missed” event with 97.3 The Eagle, a Virginia Beach radio station. The event, which happens Wednesday, June 25 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Ocean Breeze Waterpark, is for military personnel who were deployed last December and missed spending Christmas with their families.
Families will be able to swim and play in the park. Dinner will be served by the Wave Pool. Santa will be on hand for photos and will hand out presents. There will be a live performance by new Midas recording artist Adam Gregory and a special live evening broadcast of "Jimmy Ray and Jen."
Members of the media attending the event will have the opportunity to speak with military members and their families.
